STRESS AWARENESS MONTH to be OBSERVED at

SPIRIT SEEKER’S 28th WHOLISTIC EXPO

THEME REJUVENTION and RENEWAL

ST LOUIS — In recognition of Stress Awareness Month, a gathering of 70 businesses and national experts will gather at the 28th Wholistic Living Expo on Sunday, April 6, from 9 am to 5 pm, to teach hundreds of people how to rejuvenate and renew their lives, free from stress .

Started by The Health Resource Network (HRN), a non-profit health education organization, Stress Awareness Month is a national, cooperative effort to inform people about the dangers of stress, successful coping strategies, and harmful misconceptions about stress that are prevalent in our society.  Research has shown the negative effect stress has on the immune system. Stress can raise blood pressure, increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, increase vulnerability to anxiety and depression, contribute to infertility, and hasten the aging process. During the month of April, health-care professionals and health promotion experts across the country will join forces to increase public awareness about both the causes and cures for our modern stress epidemic.. Stress Awareness Month has been held every April, since 1992.

“We want to introduce to people new ways to reduce stress in their lives.  Since stress is the underlying factor in the majority of dis-ease and illness, our Expo provides an environment for folks to explore new ways to relieve stress through meditation, massage, energy healing, chakra balancing/energy medicine, and music,” said event producer Cynde Meyer, publisher of Spirit Seeker magazine. “We will have a full range of energy practitioners that work on human and animals, aromatherapy, and all sorts of health and wellness experts who can teach people ways to reduce the damaging effects of stress.” Meyer who started as a nurse, branched into health care management, and has been a leader in Holistic Health and Wellness for over 25 years. Working in the area of Mind, Body and Spirit, Meyer publishes a monthly health and wellness magazine, is a  Feng Shui and Reiki Master teacher, and weekly radio show host.

In addition to the vendor expo and marketplace, there will be more than a dozen issue-specific seminars presented ranging from the Keynote Talk with Margaret Lembo, Author, and Chakra Healing expert,  “Chakra Awakening-How to Activate the Seven Chakras/Energy Centers in the Body”, “Messages from Spirit” With Shelly Wilson, Author and Intuitive Medium,, to “Better Brain Brighter Performance, Owning your Strategic Edge” with Julie Renee Doering, Author & Health Mentor.
